What was the highlight of The Hip Resort @ Khao Lak
Very great place to chill. Would go there agian.
The resort is in a very peaceful natural location and the ambient is wonderful. It takes 10 min by foot to the beach but you can order a free taxi or take an old bike (or rent a better bike). The beach is clean and we were almost alone on it (we was there in November) while the sea was not transparent but still ok. No place for snorkeling tho. You can have massages there. Food and cocktails are also good at the beachrestaurant. Just don't buy a bottle of white wine there, which is overpriced and of very bad quality. Staff is friendly. You can rent scooters there. Our room with private pool was huge. Loved it! Anti-Mosquito protections are present at doors and windows but maybe they should tell the maid to close the door when doing the roomservice cuz we had some mosquitos inside anyway. Breakfast buffet is great. Crossaints and coffe are good!
The only negative thing i can say about this place is: we bought an overpriced bottle of white wine "Jacobs Crek" at the beach restaurant which was the worst wine i had in years. We bought it for around 30 euro but such quality of wine is worth max 2 euro here in my country. Had to pour it down the drain. We felt scammed. Oh and the TV dint play movies from our USB stick unfortunately.

Good addition to the Thailife wellness resort
Mainly because of the facilities provided by the Thailife welness resort, this is a good option. The bungalows have a more modern look compared with those at Thailife and for a better price. The main added value however is the fact the both the staff and the fa ilities of Thailife are also available.
The wifi is useless and I can’t understand why this hasn’t been fixed a long time ago. Reading the comments in booking.com this is something that is going wrong for a long time and it is easily fixed. Wifi at Thailife at breakfast, in the Spa or at the beach all just work fine. Booking.com should revise the description and remove the wifi service when nothing is done to fix this. WIFI THAT IS NOT WORKING = NO WIFI = FALSE INFORMATION. I was also a little bit disappointed by the reply of Thailife reception when mentioning this at check-out. It seems that for check-in/check-out and paying the bill the reception of ThaiLife is available for handling TheHipResort customers but for handling complains they refer to the hipresort management which is to my knowledge not present. I think I was one of the first customers of the hip resort and I do notice that similar to the Thailife resort the normal wear and tear could be managed more closely. Don’t wait until things fall apart before intervening, be more proactive. E.g. The provided bikes are not really safe anymore and need to be replaced with updated versions. This will result in a better perception and lower costs in the long run.

Clean great for one night
Clean, good tea and coffee making facilities in room.
Shame about the noise from building next door did receive an email after I booked the room but would not want to stay more then one night. Staff not friendly. Booked partial sea view would need X-ray vision to see the sea
